Slums are neighborhoods with few options, run-down housing, unhygienic conditions, poor ventilation, and a lack of essential services such as lighting, toilets, and drinking water. These conditions are hindrance to children’s education. This is where we come in — to make learning for children in the slums as comfortable as possible.

We plan to transform beyond physical boundaries. We’re in progress of training educators and parents to help us lead a better future for the children. Education can help to promote understanding and cooperation among community members and can also help to build bridges between different communities. It can also help to establish positive relationships between the community and local government, businesses, and other organizations.

We have drawn upon the best practices of various educational models, including Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio, and current research in positive psychology, to create a model that addresses the unique needs of each of our students. The following is an overview of the nine layers that make up our holistic model of education, each of which is equally important in the education of the whole child.

One Education One World Academy provides education to 120 children in this remote community in Jaipur, India. Each child has access to all the resources they need to be given the opportunity to advance in their education.
